Edward M. Rimland Edward M. Rimland, Managing Director

Ed is a Managing Director of Silverfern Co-Investment PartnersTM and brings over 25 years of mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and financing experience to the SCIP team. Over his career, he has been involved in the strategic analysis and tactical implementation of over $100 billion in Mergers & Acquisitions transactions, including domestic and international acquisitions, divestitures and defense advisory with both public and private companies.

Prior to joining SCIP, Ed was most recently a Managing Director at SCIP affiliate The Silverfern Group, Inc., prior to which he was a Senior Managing Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. where he specialized in providing advisory services to the firm’s technology clients as Head of Technology Mergers & Acquisitions. In addition, Ed served as the TMT Group’s Chief Operating officer for three years and was a member of the firm’s Fairness Opinion and Valuation Committee for six years. His experience encompasses a wide variety of sub-industries within the technology sector including software, IT services, internet, aerospace/defense and semiconductors/hardware.

Prior to Bear Stearns, Ed spent five years in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated where he was responsible for providing mergers and acquisitions advice to the firm’s clients.

Ed earned his Masters of Business Administration degree from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and is a graduate of the Management and Technology Program at the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The Wharton School of Business and his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in computer science from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
